Associate in Credit Risk Management Services Department
I have joined Citi Services Center in 2006 as an Associate in Credit Risk Management Services Department. At first, I was sent for an intensive training and had an opportunity to spend almost one year abroad gaining experience in locations like London, Zurich, Luxembourg and Paris. After two years I was given a chance to build my own team starting with one employee and growing to manage two teams of 20 people after five years. Focus on strong performance and processes improvements qualified me for Citibank Global Star Award and resulted in nomination for prestigious Citibank “ILEAD” program for high potential managers. Consequently, I was asked latter on to manage a strategic project for my Department.
Citi Services Center is a very dynamic and growing environment. I would encourage graduates, specialists and managers to have it on their radars. This institution gives unique opportunity to be exposed to multiple banking products across different regions and interact with professionals at all levels. With flexible working hours and possibility of working from home we put right balance between professional work and personal life. It is an organization driven by energy, enthusiasm and innovation. Furthermore, it is managed by very creative and people focused Head who positions us very well for the future growth and development.
Loans Operation Director
I joined Citi in 2008 as a 3rd Party Asset Monitoring specialist within the Trustee area, supporting Fiduciary products in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Since then, I have held a number of various positions, most of them managerial, within Security Fund Services. I have led and participated in significant migrations to Trustee. I was also responsible for organizational restructuring, LEAN project and other initiatives that resulted in the improvement of processes, reengineering, and introducing innovations. Currently I manage Loan Operations within the Securities & Banking organization at Citi Service Center Poland. My team is responsible for administering the Corporate Lending portfolio for London and Western European branches. I have studied at the Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and the University of Economics in Katowice.
Poland CSC Technology Support Head
My adventure with Citi Handlowy started just after I completed my studies. I applied for the Regional Managerial Program in the Technology area. I wanted to combine my passion for information technology with the aim to pursue a managerial career, as I studied at the Warsaw School of Economics and participated in the CEMS program. After a multi-layered recruitment process, I was offered an attractive position starting with a two-week training course in London. Over the course of the 2-years program, I managed a number of projects for which I shared the responsibility with experienced Project Managers. After completing the program, thanks to the experience and knowledge I acquired, I was promoted and became the manager of a team of over 10 people at Citi Service Center Poland. Together, we developed a regional IT infrastructure support team and took over tasks from other countries in the region. Using local experience, I conducted a similar transformation on a global scale. Today, I am responsible for several dozen people in 3 teams that provide the regional technology services. Citi can be a fascinating workplace for ambitious people - every morning I make a list of new challenges and every evening I feel satisfaction at having overcome them.
Infrastructure Technology Analyst
My career at Citi Handlowy began in 2011, when I entered a two-year “Rozwój na Bank” program in the area of Technology. During three eight-month rotations I had the chance to confront diverse challenges, real problems and gain an understanding of technology at the bank from a number of different perspectives. During the first rotation at a unit supporting Unix servers I learned how infrastructure technology works, which enabled me to understand the complex relationships between servers, networks and applications. The second rotation in the project management unit provided me with the opportunity to look at technology from the perspective of defining requirements and developing new technology infrastructure. Coordination of technology projects enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the interdependence between Citi units. During the third rotation, I focused on coordinating a project aimed at ensuring alignment between Citi applications with the Windows 7 standard and their virtualization, which familiarized me with technology from the perspective of application development and management.
Having completed the program, I joined the Command Center Operations responsible for solving basic technical issues as well as monitoring the information systems of Citigroup worldwide. The scope of my responsibilities includes implementation of new initiatives and providing project-related support to the unit.
AML Team Leader
My career path with Citi began quite unexpectedly at the Lodz University of Technology, where I was invited to an interview during an event promoting a student competition (“Innovative Project”), which I entered and, 6 months later, won.
Having gained an understanding of Citi Handlowy operations, I decided to enter the “Rozwój na Bank” program. It provided me with the opportunity to work in four different departments, where I could take on different projects. I was involved in the introduction and coordination of a shift system for a department employing over four hundred people, as well as with the development of capacity and human resources plans. I also participated in bringing new products to the Polish banking market. I was involved in department migration processes, both to and from Poland. Additionally, I initiated and was responsible for a number of projects aimed at improving process efficiency in various departments, and for quality audits conducted, for instance, in the tests department during the launch of one of the most groundbreaking platforms in the history of Citi. Having completed the program after, thanks to the experience I acquired, I became AML Team Leader at Citi Service Center Poland, and I currently manage a team of sixteen AML experts. The most important thing though is the fact that every day spent at Citi is a new challenge and a new opportunity for me. On my way home, I am content with my past and look forward to each new day.
Senior Test Lead
In July 2008, I took up a two-year challenge by participating in the Management Associate Program (now “Rozwój na Bank”) at Operations&Technology.
During that period, I was provided with a unique opportunity to get to know our organization in a number of business areas, starting from CRS, through corporate and consumer technology, to the Operations Division. These two years were tantamount to two enormous challenges and four new experiences, optimization of the use of office space, first steps in corporate technology as a Project Manager, MIS building in technology and, finally, automation of operational processes at the Operations Division and testing new products for customers of the Treasury Division.
Having completed the program in 2010, I was appointed Technology Project Manager in the Capital and Money Markets. During that time I migrated several applications - for instance transferring a part of the technology service was transferred from Singapore to Poland.
In 2012, I joined a newly established test unit within the structure of the European Test and Business Parameters Center as Senior Test Lead, at Citi Service Center Poland.
During five years spent at Citi, I had the chance to work with teams from 4 regions, participate in local, regional and even cross-regional projects and, most importantly, meet interesting people willing to share their extensive experience.
IT Project Intermediate Analyst
I began my career with Citi Handlowy during the regional “Rozwój na Bank” student program, working at Citi Technology Infrastructure. The program runs for two years and consists of three, eight-month rotations through various units. During the first rotation, I was responsible for reporting processes, process optimization and automation as well as implementation of cost effectiveness improvement solutions. The second rotation enabled me to gain a thorough understanding of the work performed by system administrators, participate in shift management and work in liaison with business units and support functions on analyzing and improving the internal service provision model. During the third rotation, I provided support to IT project managers and, after completing the program, I became an IT Project Intermediate Analyst at Citi Service Center Poland, which gave me an opportunity to implement projects on my own. This experience allowed me to see that it is an area that will give me a chance to grow and witness tangible results of my work.
For me, the greatest advantage of working for a global organization, such as Citi, is the opportunity to cooperate with people from all over the world who represent diverse cultures, to contribute actively to the implementation of global solutions, and to select the tasks and areas that are aligned with my developmental needs.
NAV Analysis Team Leader
I joined Citi Service Center Poland in March 2012 as a Manager of the Portfolio Accounting team responsible for a Middle East Client. I managed to reorganize my team so that they are offering their services 7 days a week and almost 365 days a year. Towards the end of 2012, I took on additional responsibility as the Leader of the Trade Processing team on NAM shift. This took place right after the migration of processes. I lead team of almost 30 people who worked to satisfy 5 demanding clients from the US. I started career in Franklin Templeton Investments in 2008 where I joined the first batch of the US Transfer Agency team. As an Associate my main responsibility was to takeover tasks and responsibilities from different offices based in the US and India. After a year in the TA team I was transferred to the new Corporate Action team.
I was responsible for the migration of all Mandatory Corporate Action into one team based in Poland from a number of different locations (i.e. US, Scotland, India). While working in the Corporate Action team, I was involved in a number of different projects and initiatives and in mid-2010, I was promoted to Senior Analyst. In 2010 I also started working on a MA in Business Administration at the Szczecin University. In 2011, I was promoted to Team Leader in the NAV Analysis team in Franklin Templeton Investments. I took part in a number of initiatives, but my main responsibility was managing the Fund Accounting team that worked on US and Canadian Funds.
Legal Department Head
I began work at Citi in 2007 by joining the Legal & Compliance Department in Citi Forum (Poland Securities Fund Services business) and Citi Service Center Poland.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Law and Administration from the Warsaw University.
I specialize in the laws regulating the capital market, with an emphasis on banking, finance and copyrights. I have significantly broadened my knowledge and experience, not only in legal matters but also in Compliance, while acting as Legal & Compliance Deputy Head during 2011.
I’m responsible for legal support for the following departments: Anti-Money Laundering, Global Consumer Group Operations, and Technology. I’m also responsible for banking outsourcing issues and regulations governing the legal structure of CSC in Poland.
During my employment at CSC, I have participated in numerous projects that combined different legislation and regulatory regimes due to the transnational nature of our organization.
