Exchange rate used

  • VISA Exchange rates
  • Reuters based exchange rates

More detail on exchange rates applied can be found in the Terms & Conditions, section 7.2.17:

For cash withdrawals or payments in a currency other than the Denominated Currency of the Cash Account, the amount withdrawn or paid will be converted into the Denominated Currency of the Cash Account. Where this currency conversion is processed by us the exchange rate used will be the Citi International Personal Bank Reference Exchange Rate applicable on the date that the transaction is processed. In certain circumstances (depending on the type of transaction, the Denominated Currency of the Cash Account, or the currency of the withdrawal or payment), this currency conversion may be processed by a third party (such as another Citigroup Organisation, VISA or LINK). Where this is the case the exchange rate used will be the reference exchange rate set by that third party on the date it processes the transaction plus a margin of up to two percent which we apply. Please contact your Relationship Manager if you would like to know the full details of the actual rate used in any foreign currency transaction.

Historical foreign exchange rate information

You can use the below links to check historical VISA foreign exchange rates, as well as historical Reuters foreign exchange rates, which Citi International Personal Bank uses to produce Citi exchange rates. These are used for your purchases and cash withdrawals at ATMs. Please note that a business spread will be applied to these rates in order to obtain the final foreign exchange rates.
