Sahra English Managing Director, International Government Affairs, Citi Sahra English joined Citi as the Managing Director of Global Government Affairs in September 2022. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Global Public Policy at MasterCard. In this role, she was responsible for leading the company’s global trade agenda, and leading advocacy strategies for major trade negotiations, including TPP, TiSA, TTIP, and other investment treaties. Among her priorities on trade policy was to protect MasterCard’s interests globally, and promote electronic payments through developing policies that facilitate market access and reduce global distribution costs. English joinedMasterCard in 2000. Prior to her current role, she was chief of staff for both the Chief Product Officer and Chief Emerging Payments Officer, managing business administration, executive communication, and developing strategy. She has also held several positions of increasing responsibility in the global product and business development departments. Prior to joining MasterCard, she started her career at America Online (AOL) as a financial analyst. She holds anM.A. in International Political Economy &Development (IPED) fromFordhamUniversity, and a B.A. in Finance fromPace University.
