Notification to cardholders of Citibank Europe plc regarding change of issuer for prepaid cards

This notification is for all cardholders with cards beginning with the following set of numbers:
- 4567 05
- 4567 06
- 4567 33
- 4187 59
Sale of prepaid cards business
In March 2017, Citigroup sold its prepaid cards business to Wirecard Acquiring & Issuing GmbH, part of the Wirecard group of companies. This included the sale of the prepaid card(s) issued to you by Citibank Europe plc (“Citi”) having its registered office at 1 North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, Republic of Ireland. Since then, Wirecard UK & Ireland Limited, part of the Wirecard group of companies, has been managing your prepaid card(s), although they have still been issued by Citi on a temporary basis.
Notification
Wirecard Card Solutions Limited, part of the Wirecard group of companies, will be taking over as the new issuer of your card. This will happen on 27th September 2017.
What does this mean for me?
You shouldn't notice any difference, and your Citi prepaid card will still work. The agreement you had with Citi will become an agreement with Wirecard Card Solutions Limited, and references in that agreement to "we" or "us" will mean Wirecard Card Solutions Limited, but none of the terms of that agreement are changing.
Wirecard Card Solutions Limited will be a data controller of your personal data and will be able to use that information for the same purposes as Citi did as issuer of your card, in the ways set out in your agreement. You can contact Wirecard Card Solutions Limited at the address set out below.
Who is Wirecard Card Solutions Limited?
Wirecard Card Solutions Limited is a subsidiary of Wirecard AG and part of the Wirecard group of companies. It is a company registered in England under company number 7875693 and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 for the issuing of electronic money, FCA Register No. 900051. Its registered office is at Grainger Chambers, 3-5 Hood Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6JQ, UK.
Wirecard UK & Ireland Limited is a subsidiary of Wirecard AG and part of the Wirecard group of companies. It acts as the programme manager and is a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland with company number 409923.
What if I don't agree?
If you don't want your Citi prepaid card agreement(s) to transfer to Wirecard Card Solutions Limited, all you have to do is get in touch with us before 26th September 2017 using the contact details below and let us know. If you do this, Citi will close your account (and stop any cards) immediately (and without any charge to you), and Wirecard UK and Ireland Limited will, on behalf of Citi, send you any remaining balance on the account.
If you do not take any action before 26th September 2017, you will be deemed to have accepted the change in card issuer as outlined above and your Citi prepaid card agreement(s) will automatically transfer to Wirecard Card Solutions Limited on 27th September 2017.
Citi trademarks
The trademarks "Citi", "Citibank", "Citigroup" and the Arc design and similar trademarks and derivations thereof or other trademarks owned or used by Citigroup are used temporarily under licence by Wirecard from Citigroup Inc. and related group entities.
