2 Rebooting the global asset management industry As with previous reports prepared by Citi/CREATE-Research, our research has relied on a global survey bolstered by structured interviews. This report represents the views of the organizations participating in them. A sample of 269 asset managers in public and private markets from26 countries participated in the survey, with total assets under management (AuM) of $37.7 trillion. The survey was followed by 30 interviews with senior executives froma cross-section of survey respondents. All the data presented in the report and their analysis emanate from either the survey or the interviews, unless stated otherwise.
