T-bills and T-bonds (RON-denominated)

Our customers can place orders to buy securities the primary market, at auctions organized by the Ministry of Finance.

City Romania is also active in secondary markets for government bonds, due to excellent relationships with institutional investors.

Corporate Bonds (EMTN– RON-denominated)

Citi Romania offers institutional clients (banks, insurers, pension funds and investment funds) access to the corporate bond market. Intermediate issuances are tailored investments according to investors’ needs (duration from 3 to 12 years) and the market context of the time of issuance. Corporate bond issuance started in 2006 and included both financial and non-financial issuers. The access to corporate bonds allows investors to obtain returns in exchange for assuming risk enhances credit.

Government bonds (G7, Eurobonds Romania) & Corporate Bonds (EUR, USD and other)

Citi Romania offers a wide range of fixed income alternative investment, both on primary and secondary markets. The Bloomberg auto-execution platform is an electronic solution for trading G7 government bonds, as well as corporate bonds denominated in EUR or USD issued by companies in emerging or developed markets. Moreover, this service is available for Eurobonds issued by the Romanian state, and can be traded and settled directly on our platform without any additional effort on the side of the institutional client.

Cash Equity & Futures (except for the Romanian market)

Due to our global network, Citi Romania can facilitate the trading of cash equity and futures for a significant number of markets (emerging and developed), at the same time ensuring highly competitive commissions. Access can be made electronically via Bloomberg.

Derivative products

Structured Notes

Investors can obtain higher yields for principal-guaranteed investments through exposure to different asset classes: foreign exchange, stock, commodities, interest rates, costs, currency baskets, indices, mutual funds etc. Notes are customized to fit the specific customer needs, risk tolerance and market view.

Credit Linked Notes

CLN are structured notes that have credit risk as underlying asset. They offer attractive yields, diversification and flexibility. This alternative investment is primarily intended for investment funds and banks (due to less stringent regulations than other categories of investors). However there are insurance companies which have found applicability for these products. Citi is a major player in the market for credit linked notes denominated in RON and with Romania's credit risk (as CDS or bond) as underlying.
