CitiDirect® Online Banking is Citibank's new online customer access
and global delivery channel. Over the next year CitiDirect® Online
Banking will replace most of the Global Corporate Bank's existing
electronic banking platforms, including Citibanking and other
customer delivery systems. CitiDirect® Online Banking offers
seamless, efficient and secure worldwide access to the Corporate
Bank's entire portfolio of transaction products and services. This
includes cash, trade, securities and foreign exchange services.
CitiDirect® Online Banking is not a product in and of itself, but a
new and improved delivery system for Citibank's services. Our
competitive advantage does not rely on new technological solutions
such as CitiDirect® Online Banking rather it remains rooted, as it
always has been, in how we serve our customers. Our strong
commitment to customer service, combined with our quality
initiative, is targeted at delivering total customer satisfaction.
Consequently, CitiDirect® Online Banking as a delivery system will
be referenced as a component of the product/solution discussion we
have with customers -- keeping our emphasis on the excellence of our
global products and services, our global network and our local
expertise.
CitiDirect® Online Banking is a browser-based (Internet Explorer
5.0 or above) customer access channel with state-of-the-art security
that includes encryption, access management and integrity of the
data, as well as user authentication. CitiDirect® Online Banking
has been developed using Internet technology combined with the most
robust security features available in the marketplace. By employing
a four-tier approach to security, CitiDirect® Online Banking makes
sure our customers' transactions are secure in every step of the
way.

The CitiDirect® Online Banking application resides entirely within
Citibank's Intranet. This means that we can ensure the security and
control over our customers' data. For the first time, we can upgrade
the application at will, with no disruption to our customers, who
will see the upgrade immediately, with no need to alter their
software or configuration. This will allow us to be much more
responsive to changing customer demands than was previously
possible.
