  About the E-card
What is the Citibank e-card ?
  The e-card is designed to be used for purchases on the Internet, which is linked to one of your Citibank Credit Cards. On approval of your application, you will be assigned an e-card number and a Card Validation Code, which are different from your basic credit card number for security reasons.
Where can I use my e-card ?
  The e-card can be used for making purchases on the Internet only. This means you cannot use it for purchases done through Point of Sales Machines and manual imprinters in shops. Additionally, you will not be able to withdraw cash using this card.
How do I use my Citibank e-card?
  You can use your e-card by entering your card number, expiry date and in some cases the Card Validation Code (some sites might ask for it) to conclude your shopping transaction/s for the items you selected to purchase on the site.
Where can I find the Card Validation Code (CVC)?
  This is a unique number given to all Citibank e-card members to complete the financial transactions on the Internet and is printed on the face of the e-card.
If I decided to close my basic card, can I keep my e-card and continue using it ?
  No, your e-card is linked to your basic card and has to be closed too.
Why is there no magnetic stripe on the e-card ?
  The e-card does not bear the magnetic stripe because it was designed only for Internet and other purchases where physical presentment of the card is not required and for security it cannot be misused at POS machines or ATM machines by anyone.
 
   
  Security Features
What are the security features of the e-card ?
  Your e-card prevents you against fraud through its security measures:

1. Your e-card number is created totally independent from your main credit card.
2. In order to protect usage of your e-card by unauthorized people, there is no expiry date on your e-card. This specific date will be known only by you.
3. Early Warning System, a unique system that continuously monitors transactions on your Citibank e-card to prevent fraudulent usage. When any suspicious transaction occurs on your account which is not in line with your usage pattern, we will give you a call to check and confirm that the transaction is genuine.
4. Your data on the card is printed and not embossed so it cannot be used on manual point of sale machines.
5. Your e-card is not active upon receiving it till you activate it by calling CitiPhone Banking on +9714 311 4000.
6. The credit limit assigned for the e-card is low to ensure that your risk is limited.
What should I do if I loose my e-card ?
  In case your e-card is lost or stolen, please call us immediately on +971 4 311 4000. We will block your card and issue a new card for you at a nominal charge.
Do I need a Cash Withdrawal PIN for the e-card ?
  No, you don't need a PIN as you can't withdraw cash with your e-card. You use your existing PIN for your basic card to access Citibank® Online - Internet Banking Service and view your e-card transactions.
 
   
  Application and Charges
How do I apply for an e-card ?
 

If you are an existing credit cardmember, all you need to do is select e-card under Customer Service option or call our 24 hour CitiPhone Banking Service on +971 4 311 4000.
If you do not have a Citibank Credit Card, then you need to apply for one - you can leave us with your name and number and one of our experienced Sales person will visit you at your convenience.

Do I need to send any documents when I apply for a Citibank e-card?
  If you are already a Citibank Cardmember, you don't need to send any documents at all just the filled e-card application form.
Can the e-card be issued separately?
  No. The e-card will be issued as a supplementary to your basic card.
What are the annual membership fees ?
  The annual membership fee will be AED 50 for all Citibank Cardmembers excluding Emirates-Citibank Cardmembers who will get it free. This will be charged to you in the first statement after activation and every year thereafter.
How should I make my payments?
  You have several convenient options to make payments on your Citibank e-card Account.
Please make your payments by a personal cheque which needs to be sent to the bank before the due date.
Pay at EDMs: You have the option of making payments at your convenience through any of our 24-hour EDM Machines.
Are there any interest charges applicable on purchases?
If you choose to pay your entire outstanding amount by the Payment Due Date, you pay no finance charge (other than on cash advances). If you make the payment in part, finance charge at the rate determined by the Bank shall be charged on retail / cash transactions. This will reflect in your next month statement.
Can I convert my existing supplementary to an e-card ?
  No. The e-card can be issued only for the basic cardholder.
 
  Credit Limit
What is the Credit Limit on the Citibank e-card?
  The maximum credit limit is AED 4000 for Gold Cardmembers and AED 2000 for Silver Cardmembers, however, you have the option to lower it if you want. The credit limit assigned on the e-card is part of the overall credit limit you have on your basic card.
 
Purchase Protection
Ever experienced post-purchase blues?
As a Citibank Credit Card Member, you never will. Because most of your purchases using your Citibank Credit Card will qualify for insurance against theft or accidental damage till 30 days from the date of purchase.
What should I do if I lose my e-card?
