What is it:

Credit Shield Plus is an optional insurance program designed to protect you from the liability of paying the outstanding amount on your credit card in the event of Involuntary Loss of Employment, Temporary Disability, Permanent Disability, Critical illness and at the unfortunate event of death.

Credit Shield Plus thus provides you peace of mind to tide over emergency situations by taking care of your Citibank credit card dues.

How it works:

Credit Card Outstanding (up to specified limits) are paid by the insurance company in the event of Involuntary Loss of Employment, Temporary Disability, Permanent Disability, Critical illness and at the unfortunate event of death of the Citibank Credit Card customer.

Critical Illness means the first diagnosis of any of the following illnesses first occurring after the acceptance date (DATE OF ENROLLEMENT)

• Blindness
• Malignant Cancer
• Chronic Renal Failure
• Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
• Heart Attack
• Major Organ Transplant Surgery or
• Stroke

Insurance products are subject to exclusions, special terms and conditions, contained in the Policy document.
Insurance products are optional and underwritten by Insurers, subject to terms & conditions of each policy. Citibank N.A. does not offer insurance advice nor underwrite or issue insurance policies. Citibank N.A. is not responsible for rejection of any application/claim. Citibank N.A. provides customer support to the by way of receiving payments from the customer and forwarding them to the Insurer, in addition to making such insurance products available to the customers. Policies can be cancelled at anytime. If cancelled within 30 days of enrollment, customers are entitled to a full refund of premium collected with in that period. If cancelled after 30 days, there will be no refund of premium as this is not an investment product and does not accumulate a cash value.
