Lifestyle Protect is an optional credit insurance program designed to provide you with the peace of mind that comes with knowing that even in unfortunate circumstances, your cover will allow you to take care of your Citibank Credit Card dues and also ensure some of your personal expenses are taken care of.

This insurance is brought to you by MetLife and offers the following benefits.


In the unfortunate event of Death or Critical Illness:

  • Coverage of the full Outstanding Balance
  • Payment of three times the average Outstanding Balance for the last three months to you or your legal heirs

In the unfortunate event of Involuntary Loss of Employment:

  • Coverage of 10% of the Outstanding Balance on your credit card up to 6 months of proven unemployment
  • Payment of 5% of the Outstanding Balance directly to you up to 6 months of proven unemployment
  • Lump sum benefit paid to you and Bank to cover your Outstanding Balance in the 7th month of proven unemployment

Citibank N.A. (UAE) will receive a distribution fee (commission) from the Insurer equivalent to a percentage of the gross premium payable. Other Citi entities may receive additional compensation for the provision of product administration and management services.

Insurance products are subject to exclusions, special terms and conditions, medical underwriting requirements (as applicable) contained in the policy document. Insurance products are optional and underwritten by insurers, subject to the terms and conditions of each policy. Citibank N.A. does not underwrite or issue insurance policies. Citibank N.A. is not responsible for rejection of any application and/or claim made to the insurer. Citibank N.A. provides customer support by way of receiving payments from the customer and forwarding them to the insurer, in addition to making such insurance products available to the customers. Policies can be cancelled at any time. If a policy is cancelled within the free-look period, which commences either (i) 30 days from the date the first premium is debited or (ii) 30 days from the date the policy documents are dispatched (whichever is later) customers are entitled to a full refund of premium collected within that period (Transfer charges may apply). For cancellations made after the free-look period, there will be no refund of premiums paid as this policy is not a savings plan and does not acquire a cash value. Insurance products are not insured by government or governmental agencies.
