Credit Cards - Purchase Protection

With your Citibank Credit Card you are entitled to Purchase Protection, which provides coverage for most items you purchase with your eligible Citibank Credit Card if the item is damaged or stolen within 90 days of the date of purchase. The item will either be replaced with a new one, or you will be reimbursed for the full value of the item as per the store receipt. CITI PRESTIGE

With your Citi Prestige World Elite™ Mastercard® Credit Card shop with more confidence – Purchase Protection covers purchases made with your Citi Prestige Card if they are damaged or stolen within 90 days of purchase. You’re covered for up to USD 2,000 per claim and a maximum of USD 5,000 over a 12-month period. The item will either be replaced with a brand new one, or you will be reimbursed for the full value of the item as per the store receipt

Claim Process

Written notice of claim must be given no later than thirty (30) days from the date of the incident. Failure to give notice within (30) days from the date of the incident may result in a denial of the claim.

You can submit a claim online here. Documents required to be submitted are:

  • Passport and residence visa or Emirates ID copy
  • A copy of the purchase receipt and/or a card statement showing payment of the item was made entirely with the Citi Prestige Card.
  • If the item/s is damaged, photos of the damaged item/s
  • For theft claims, official copies of the police report within ninety (90) days of incident;

Please note that cardholders may be required to send in the damaged item(s), at their expense, for further evaluation of the claim
