Funds Transfer Instruction
As a trusted banking partner we are committed to providing our customers with the necessary information and security to confidently transact business.
- Complete name of the beneficiary.
- Account number of the receiver/beneficiary
- Address of the beneficiary
The beneficiary phone number and purpose of payment should be mentioned.
- Beneficiary Account type
- Beneficiary Account number should not have any special characters
- IFSC Code of the Beneficiary Bank (If not readily available with you please get this information from the beneficiary. – IFSC code is mentioned in the left bottom of the check book of the beneficiary holding the bank A/C where you need to remit the funds)
- Complete address of the beneficiary bank
- If funds are favoring NRE account mention NRE account and IFSC code in the details of payment field
- Fund transfers placed from Monday to Thursday, before 10:30AM UAE time, will be reaching the beneficiary same day, subject to all details being correct.
IBAN (International Bank Identification Number) of the beneficiary should be mentioned.

You can also transfer funds via Citibank Online, our online banking service. The following fund transfers are supported online:
- Transfer between your own accounts
- Transfer to another Citibank UAE account*
- Transfer to a local non-Citibank account*
- Instant transfer to a global Citibank account (Citibank Global Transfers)*
- Transfer to a Rupee Checking Account
- Transfer to any non-Citibank account outside UAE
*You will need to add your destination account as a Payee on Citibank Online and activate the Payee before you execute the funds transfer. Payee activation can be done on Citibank Online by entering the Online Authorization Code that was sent to you via SMS or by using our 24-hour CitiPhone Banking Service (Automated Voice Response System).
You can also transfer funds via Citibank Mobile App where the following services are supported:
- Transfer between your own accounts
- Transfer to another Citibank UAE account*
- Transfer in local currency to a local non-Citibank account*
- Instant transfer to a global Citibank account (Citibank Global Transfers)*
- Transfers in foreign currency to an account in UAE or outside UAE*
*You will need to add your destination account as a Payee on Citibank Online before you execute the funds transfer.
Alternatively, for the following fund transfer options, you can also call our 24-hour CitiPhone Banking Service
- Transfer funds between your own U.A.E. Citibank accounts. This option is available through Automated Voice Response system.
The following options should be selected
- Call 04 3114000 & Select Preferred Language
- Press 1 for Balance Enquiry/Transaction Activity & Services
- Enter Debit Card Number + 4 digit Telephone Personal Identification Number
- After quick balance, press 2 for Transfers & Payments
- Select 1 to Transfer Between Bank Accounts
- If the transfer is successful, you will receive a reference number for confirmation
- This transfer is instant!
Note: *High value cross currency transactions are not processed on Saturdays & Sundays
*Prevailing exchange rates will be applicable for cross-currency transfers
- Receive fund transfers requests in local or foreign currency to non-Citibank accounts up to a predefined limit. Fund transfer request will be sent for processing after all details have been provided.
This option is only available through our Citiphone Banking agents.
Prevailing exchange rates will be applicable for cross-currency transfers at the moment when transfer will be processed.

You may receive a call to confirm the transactions and its details if the instructions are sent to the Branches or Financial Centers through messengers. The remittance may not be executed unless the callback to you is completed
- Please ensure that your local and overseas contact numbers are updated, for the bank to be able to reach you if required. Attempts will be made to reach you only on the numbers on our records.
- Citibank shall not be liable for any act or omission of any correspondent or paying bank or for any error or delay in transmission.
- Please note the fund transfers will be rejected by the beneficiary bank if any of the Required Information is missing or incomplete.
- Citibank will not be responsible for any late charges, interest claims and/or any other losses or damages (including, but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential damages/losses) you may suffer as result of beneficiary bank not processing any wire instructions.
- Prevailing exchange rates at the time of processing will be applicable.
- A fee per transfer will be debited along with the transaction amount, as mentioned in the Schedule of Charges.
- You may be unable to obtain full value pursuant to a telegraphic transfer on account of exchange or other restrictions applicable in the country of payment or country of issue or due to the paying bank or charges and fees of the paying bank.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE U.S.GOVERNMENT HAS IN PLACE SANCTIONS AGAINST CERTAIN COUNTRIES, RELATED ENTITIES AND INDIVIDUALS. UNDER THESE SANCTIONS CITIBANK N.A. IS/WILL BE PROHIBITED FROM ENGAGING IN TRANSACTIONS THAT MAY FALL WITHIN THE GUIDELINES OF THE SANCTIONS AND IS COMPELLED TO REJECT SUCH TRANSACTIONS AND BLOCK THE RELATED FUNDS.
