Citi Perspectives for the Public Sector

 2015 – 2016

Welcome
to
Citi Perspectives for the
Public Sector.
As we enter the final quarter of 2015,
we see many trends impacting our
Public Sector clients. These include
familiar subjects such as efficiency
and transparency, infrastructure needs,
risk mitigation, differentiated financing
solutions and capital raising.
In this issue of
Perspectives
, as we have done in the past, leaders of our
Public Sector franchise share their insights on some of the most important
topics that you are discussing with us. An article on corruption, a problem
that thwarts economic growth, highlights how a global regulatory
framework and electronic workflows and tools, such as e-procurement,
can help combat fraud. An article on urbanization highlights how the
creative use of finance and technology can help municipalities improve
the lives of urban citizens.
Another hot topic we hear a lot about is efficiency. To this end, we
provide a look at solutions ranging from currency overlays in reserve
management to ways foreign affairs ministries are improving their
financial management practices. We also address the need for
non-government organizations to unlock efficiency, control and
transparency and consider the implications of the New Silk Road
that links China, Central Asia and Europe.
On behalf of Citi’s Public Sector team, I would like to thank you and all of
our clients for the valuable relationships and dialogs that we have with
you — relationships that help shape our
Perspectives
articles and our
business priorities. As we prepare for 2016, we look forward to continuing
this rapport and collaborating closely with you to identify and develop
solutions for addressing the most challenging problems facing the
Public Sector.
As always, we welcome your feedback on the topics covered in this edition
and your suggestions for future editions.
