Unilever Expands its Commercial Card mandate as Citi Extends its Central and Eastern Europe Commercial Card Solution to Romania
LONDON, BUCHAREST, COPENHAGEN - October 21, 2009 – Citi today announced that its Global Transaction Services business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has extended its global platform for commercial card issuance into Romania. Unilever, which has over 400 brands spanning 14 categories of home, personal care and foods products, has chosen to expand its Citi Commercial Card programme to Romania. This is the fifth market in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) that Citi has launched its Global card offering in this year.
Citi Commercial Cards, with unsurpassed acceptance and an extensive issuing footprint, has long been considered a pre-eminent commercial cards provider to large and multi-national organizations. Nearly 500 multinational corporations use its commercial cards programs at the core of their expense management strategy, making Citi a premier cards issuer in terms of technology, innovation and card volume.
In June 2009, Citi had also extended its offering of Global commercial cards product to four new markets in Central and Eastern Europe - Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
