Citibank® Online Investments Portal Adds More Than 50 Money Market Funds

New Enhancements Will Allow All trades To Settle To One Bank Account — Adding Convenience and Efficiency for Institutional Investments

Las Vegas, Nevada — October 17, 2006 – Global Transaction Services, a business of Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking, today announced major new enhancements to its Citibank® Online Investments portal. These new features will make it much easier and more efficient for companies to manage their liquidity by simplifying the investment and monitoring of cash balances.

Elyse Weiner, Managing Director and Global Head of Citigroup Liquidity and Investments for the Cash Management business, says, "With this new release, we have provided institutional investors with many benefits, making investing cash an integral part of their overall cash and liquidity management process. Companies are looking to manage their cash in a comprehensive way, and our portal integrates the investment process into the client account structure, cash flows and cash management systems for comprehensive, one stop cash management."

Trade Settlement To One Account, and Same Day New Account Opening:

Corporate liquidity investors will now be able to manage their cash and their investments within one application and automatically settle all trades against their operating bank account, unlike most other portals on the market. Information required to research money market fund alternatives will be readily available online. New accounts can be set up the same day in real time, a tremendous convenience for busy institutional investors. Direct investments are also available and there is enough liquidity across all investment options to provide diversity and choice to most institutional investors.

Mali Bartlett, Product Manager of Citibank Online Investments, says, "More clients are using a portal for their investments, and industry surveys indicate this usage will likely increase. Few portals directly integrate with an institutional client's cash management processes the way we have combined Citibank Online Investments with CitiDirect Online Banking, our award-winning web-based cash management system."

Invest In 50+ Funds, Including Largest Money Market Funds:

Citibank cash management clients can now invest in more than 50 different funds including many of the industry's largest money market funds. Fund families include:

  • AIM Investments
  • American Beacon Funds
  • Barclays Global Investors Funds
  • The Dreyfus Corporation
  • Federated Investors
  • Goldman Sachs Asset Management
  • JP Morgan Asset Management
  • Putnam Investments, and
  • Western Asset Management

Institutional clients will be able to choose from a variety of taxable and tax sensitive fund investments to suit their short-term money management needs. Citibank Online Investments will continue to offer direct investments in commercial paper, time deposits, money market demand accounts and repurchase agreements.

End-To-End Treasury Is Here:

Citibank Online Investments shows Citigroup's commitment to integrating all the steps in cash management for end-to-end treasury management. In 2007, the portal will also be directly accessible through TreasuryVision, Citigroup's award winning Web-based information and analytics service. Although the initial offering includes domestic U.S. funds, the portal will be further enhanced in 2007 to offer offshore funds in multiple currencies. With the most significant upgrade since its launch over ten years ago, Citibank Online Investments is poised to be the premier money market fund portal. In addition to the increase in available investment funds, the portal has upgraded its technology platform to provide institutional clients with improved features for ease-of-use, security and reporting including:

  • Choice and Visibility — Large number of funds plus fund information including yields, ratings and links to prospectuses
  • Simplified Settlement — Single agreement for all fund families and the ability to set-up a new fund account online immediately when ready to invest
  • Automatic Settlement — No separate wires required, reducing cost and errors
  • Access and Control — Improved security to safeguard the investment process plus one-statement reports showing account position with accrued dividends and consolidated monthly statements across all money market funds

Citibank Online Investments is a global, secure, Web-based investment service accessible with single-sign on to CitiDirect Online Banking. Institutional clients can go online to view rates, initiate trades and receive immediate confirmation of trades or choose to view information later through a trade inquiry screen. Citibank Online Investment offers a wide variety of short-term investment choices enabling clients to put their money to work conveniently, quickly and safely.
