Citigroup Turkey receives the highest rank from GSCS Benchmarks magazine in its recent 2004 Review of Subcustodian Services
November 22, 2004, New York
— Citigroup Global Transaction Services announced today that
Global Finance magazine has named Citigroup the overall winner of
its annual “World’s Best Internet Bank” competition.
Citigroup, based on its global CitiDirect® Online
Banking service, also topped the list of regional and category award
winners in this year’s competition.
At a recent awards dinner, Citigroup was also named the World’s
Best Overall Corporate/ Institutional Internet Bank, the Best Corporate/Institutional
Internet Bank in North America, Central/Eastern Europe and, with
its Banamex group, the Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank
in Latin America. Additionally, Citigroup took top honors in the
Corporate/Institutional category for World’s Best Integrated
Site, a reflection of its strategy to provide clients with a single
point of access for cash management, treasury and trade services
anywhere they do business around the world.
“We are proud to offer client access to the latest advances in Internet-based technologies,” said Frank Bisignano, Chief Executive Officer, Citigroup Global Transaction Services, in accepting the awards. “As Internet banking has matured to become a normal part of doing business for corporate clients, our challenge has been to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace. The people behind our technology, product offerings and client service truly set CitiDirect Online Banking apart from our competitors and have made it a tremendous success.”
In winning a total of 45 consumer and corporate Internet awards,
Citigroup topped the list of 77 banks from around the world that
entered this year’s competition. Winners were selected on
the basis of the strength of their strategy for attracting and servicing
online clients, success in getting clients to use Web offerings,
growth of online client base, breadth of product offerings, evidence
of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives and Web site
design and functionality. A full report on the awards will appear
in the December issue of Global Finance.
