Citi Appoints New Country Officer For Canada
Hastings also named Chairman and CEO of Citibank Canada
TORONTO - July 6, 2010 – Citi is pleased to announce the appointment of John Hastings as Country Officer and as Chairman and CEO of Citibank Canada.
As Country Officer, he is the central representative for Citi in Canada and responsible for ensuring strong, effective relationships between Citi and its key stakeholders. As Chairman and CEO, he oversees the governance and continued growth of one of Canada's most global financial institutions.
Mr. Hastings has been with Citi in Canada for more than 25 years in numerous roles. Most recently he was Managing Director and Head of Citi's Institutional Clients Group in Canada, providing franchise oversight across all institutional customer segments and product groups.
"This new role provides a tremendous opportunity, particularly as it comes at such a pivotal moment in Citi's evolution in Canada," Hastings said. Mr. Hastings holds a B.A. in Economics from Queen's University and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto.
