New Innovative Decision Support Tool for Asset Managers

New York, NY - February 17, 2010 – Citigroup today announced the launch of CitiDirect® Performance and Risk Measurement Service (PRISM), an industry first performance and risk reporting middle-office application using leading-edge visualization technology. With CitiDirect® PRISM's innovative heat-mapping capabilities, asset managers can for the first time aggregate multiple, manually-generated reports into a single information view to enhance efficiency and improve decision-making.

"CitiDirect® PRISM demonstrates our ongoing commitment to market innovation and leading-edge technology for the benefit of our clients," says Neeraj Sahai, Global Head, Securities and Fund Services, Citi. "The heat-mapping technology that powers this new middle-office tool enables a fund's executives and asset owners to view their portfolio performance and risk exposure in an intuitive manner that aids in their investment and risk management processes."

A key component of CitiDirect® PRISM is its decision-support functionality. Dashboard views for chief investment officers, portfolio managers, risk managers and product distribution teams provide insightful information about complex data relationships across performance, attribution, investment operations and sales across multiple products and asset classes. The ability to interact with large amounts of data in an intuitive fashion enables quicker analysis and decisions.

CitiDirect® PRISM has multiple benefits over existing tools including:

  • Visualization of complex information enabling the aggregation of large, disparate data sets so users can easily recognize complicated data relationships to assist them in effectively managing their business strategies
  • The ability to 'manage by exception' by rapidly spotting patterns and anomalies that could be missed in large reports or static charts
  • Flexible aggregation and reporting dashboards to meet clients' specific needs

CitiDirect® PRISM is the latest addition to Citi's overall performance and risk measurement capabilities, which deliver a comprehensive suite of services -- rate of return, asset allocation, attribution analysis, fixed-income attribution, risk and transaction analytics, ex-ante risk, composite maintenance and flexible reporting -- in a seamless integrated solution. Calculations follow the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) guidelines and offer high-level and detailed comparisons against custom or market indices.

Through its Securities and Fund Services business, Citi's industry-focused experts provide investors worldwide with tailored solutions delivered though proven global platforms that feature modular, open architecture. With over $12 trillion of assets under custody and the industry's largest proprietary network, clients can leverage Citi's local market expertise and global reach to extract value across the entire investment value chain.

Global Transaction Services, a division of Citi's Institutional Clients Group, offers integrated cash management, trade, and securities and fund services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations around the world. With a network that spans more than 100 countries, Citi's Global Transaction Services supports over 65,000 clients.
