IMPORTANT WARNING!

Recently, consumers have reported receiving fraudulent emails that appear to be from Citibank, but which are, in fact, sent by imposters.

Fraudulent emails typically include attachments, request personal information or both. The fraudulent email may provide a web link that connects to a Citibank look-alike site. When such emails are sent in our name, Citibank works aggressively with law enforcement agencies to investigate them. We kindly would like to remind you that Citibank does not ask its customers to provide sensitive security information in this way. You should NOT reply to such emails.

Every Internet user should know about spoof (a.k.a. phishing or hoax) e-mails that appear to be from a well-known company but can put you and your account at risk.

Although they can be difficult to spot, they generally ask you to click a link back to a spoof web site and provide, update or confirm sensitive personal information. To bait you, they may allude to an urgent or threatening condition concerning security of your account with Citibank.

Even if you don't provide what they ask for, simply clicking the link could subject you to background installations of key logging software or viruses. Please make sure that your Auto Preview option in your Email software is turned off to avoid accidental opening of such files.

If you have responded to one of the emails giving personal information, please contact Citibank immediately at Citiphone 111 222 222 in order to safeguard your interests. However Citibank shall not be responsible in any manner incase an unauthorized transaction(s) had already taken place in your account(s) prior to such notification
