In Pakistan, Citi has been and continues to be energetic in its support for projects and initiatives that seek to develop the community. Be it through its philanthropic arm ‘the Citi Foundation’ or through timely transfer of expertise particularly in areas related to the advancement of the local financial sector and employee volunteerism, Citi Pakistan remains committed to making a difference.

In 2006, Citi Pakistan developed industry-leading initiatives and delivered best-in-class programs, products, and services to our nonprofit partners and the communities they serve.

In 2007, we will continue to engage in open and honest dialogue with our partners and to work with them to proactively seek solutions. And in order to fulfill our global corporate responsibilities, we are committed to providing programs and solutions that meet the needs of communities across Pakistan

Citi typically concentrates its efforts in three areas:

Financial Education

Building Communities and Entrepreneurs.


	We support financial education because we believe access to investment products and capital can raise the quality of life for individuals and families and strengthen communities around the world. But capital must be used responsibly and wisely: a good financial education can help people make the most of their money. The Foundation provides grants for financial education programs in three areas—Personal, Small Business, and Institutional—that:


	We believe all children should have access to a high quality education that helps them acquire the knowledge and skills to find a rewarding career, manage their lives, and fully participate in society. Enhancing educational opportunities will better prepare the next generation for personal and professional success. The Foundation supports early childhood, primary, secondary, and higher education programs that:


	For more than a century, Citigroup has been part of the fabric of thousands of cities and neighborhoods around the world. With this shared history comes a special responsibility to make a difference in the communities where we live and work. Grants are made to reinforce community-led efforts to revitalize low-income neighborhoods around the world where Citigroup has a presence.
