On Monday 19th October Citibank Pakistan signed a contract with AIG-New Hampshire Insurance Company for an Auto fleet referral model. Citibank’s CCO and Managing Director Arif Usmani and Consumer Business Manager Azim Alvi, Insurance Business Head Kashif-ur-Rehman along with Mujeeb Khan, Country Manager AIG and Saquib Mehmood, Agency Director AIG were there to mark the occasion.

This initiative is a totally unique preposition in the industry and the first ever referral model of this type. Azim Alvi, Citi Pakistan’s Consumer Banking Head said, Through this new initiative, Citibank intends to leverage both its corporate and bank at work relationships and offer its corporate clients, the auto insurance product for their corporate and commercial fleets.’

Kashif-ur-Rehman, Insurance Business Head for Citi Pakistan added, ‘This initiative is bound to open up a new channel for Citi to increase its business by referring various insurance covers to its corporate customers at very competitive rates.’

Citi has been operating in Pakistan since 1961 and will be completing its 50th anniversary in 2011. Over these years it has come to be reputed as an industry leader, recognized as the pioneer for a spectrum of banking products and services in Pakistan including its call centre insurance products, its Credit Shield Plan and Secure Wallet plan. Citi recently launched its Savings Plan campaign in Pakistan as well as the first ever pre-underwritten Health Insurance Scheme.
