Citigroup Hungary Wins
Global Finance Best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank Award 2006

Citigroup was also award winner for the "Best Integrated Consumer Site and Best Information Security Initiatives in Central" and "Eastern Europe as well as was named" "Best at Online Cash Management" and "Best at Trade Finance Services in Central and Eastern Europe".

Citibank Zrt., a member of Citigroup today announced that it has won the Global Finance Best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank Award 2006. Citigroup won this prestigious award in 53 countries around the world including Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Cameroon, China, Congo, Costa Rica, Cote D'Ivoire, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Finland, France, Gabon, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay, United States and Zambia.

Citigroup was also award winner for the Best Integrated Consumer Site and Best Information Security Initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe on the consumer side as well as was named Best at Online Cash Management and Best at Trade Finance Services in Central & Eastern Europe on the corporate side.

Batara Sianturi, Consumer Business Manager for Citibank Zrt. said, "We introduced a new virtual keyboard based login system early this year that further enhanced the security of Citibank Online, our internet banking service for our consumer and SME customers. Our account customers can view their account and credit card information on the same platform and the Citibank Alerting service that sends sms and/or e-mail messages about transactions can also be accessed via the Citibank Online system. We are pleased that our efforts to increase the service level and security of our internet banking platform for our customers in the region have been recognized by such a high-profile global publication as Global Finance Magazine."

Global Finance has a circulation in over 160 countries and covers a wide spectrum of subjects including corporate finance, joint ventures and M&A, country profiles, capital markets, investor relations, currencies, banking, risk management, custody, direct investment and money management. Winners were chosen among entries evaluated by a world-class judging panel consisting of representatives from Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. Global Finance editors were responsible for the final selection of winners in the First Round.

Winning banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, growth of online customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, and web site design and functionality.
