Citigroup today announced that the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Batara Sianturi as a member of the Board of Directors of Citibank Zrt., with immediate effect. Mr. Sianturi will be the Business Manager of the Consumer Business of Citibank Zrt.

Mr. Sianturi first joined Citigroup in 1988 as a Management Associate in Jakarta, Indonesia. His career spans 17 years of consumer bank experience with Citigroup in Indonesia and Australia, where he has held senior management positions in Marketing, Retail Banking, Sales & Distribution and Finance.

Batara Sianturi holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey, USA, as well as an MBA in Finance from St. John's University in New York.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Sianturi said: "I am very pleased about the solid business base I have inherited in Hungary. I look forward to working together with our dedicated and skilful professionals to deliver value to our customers in every transaction. We will continue to expand our products and services offering and further develop our diversified distribution channels to strengthen our market position in Hungary.
