Citigroup Named Winner in Global Finance Magazine's 2005 Award for
"Best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank" in Hungary

Citibank Rt., a member of Citigroup today announced that it has won Global Finance magazine's 2005 Award for "Best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank" in Hungary*. Citigroup won this prestigious award in 30 countries around the world including Cameroon, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Hungary, Kenya, Korea, Mexico/Banamex, Netherlands, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda and Zambia.

Fernando Iraola, Head of Global Transaction Services for Citigroup in Hungary said: "We launched our CitiDirect Online Banking service in Hungary in 2001 and we have been continuously increasing the service level to best meet our clients' needs. CitiDirect is especially important for treasury centers of multinational corporations and banks, whose branches and subsidiaries are serviced by Citigroup in Hungary and around the world. CitiDirect adds an Internet banking facility for these companies, allowing them to put all their banking functions in one place and control cash flows and liquidity of their company network in different countries and regions by accessing CitiDirect through the Internet. This award is clearly a recognition of our service and it reflects the satisfaction of our clients."

Global Finance is a reputable finance magazine with a circulation in over 158 countries. The magazine covers a wide spectrum of subjects including corporate financing, capital markets, monetary policies, banking operations and risk management.

Winners were chosen among entries evaluated by a world-class judging panel and Global Finance editors were responsible for the final selection of winners. Winning banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, growth of online customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, and web site design and functionality.

* Global Finance has announced the First Round winners in 2005's "World's Best Internet Banks" competition. Details on all First Round winners will be published in the September issue. First round winners include Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Banks and Best Consumer Internet Banks at the country level. The Regional and Global winners for these categories will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in New York in November and published in the December issue of Global Finance.
