Citigroup today announced that the Hungarian Financial Supervisory
Authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Sunil Sreenivasan
as the new Citigroup Country Officer (CCO) for Citigroup in Hungary.
He replaces Mr. Zdenek Turek, who is now the CCO for Citigroup in
the Republic of South Africa.
In addition to his CCO role, Mr. Sreenivasan is the Division Executive
for Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Bank "Central Europe
Division" which is centered in Budapest. In this capacity,
he is responsible for Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Banking
activities in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia
and Bulgaria.
Mr. Sreenivasan first joined Citigroup in 1984 and over the next
decade, held various senior roles in Shipping and Aviation Finance
in the United States.
In 1994 Mr. Sreenivasan was appointed CCO for Malaysia, based in
Kuala Lumpur, and went on to become CCO for Singapore (1998) and
Poland (2003) until his transfer to Hungary earlier this year.
Sunil Sreenivasan holds a Bachelor Degree from the University of
Delhi and a Masters Degree from University of Oxford. He is also
a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Accountants in England
and Wales.
Commenting on his appointment Mr. Sreenivasan said, "The long
presence of Citigroup in Hungary and in Central Europe is an indicator
of our commitment to the country and region. I look forward to working
in Hungary and Central Europe to continue to strengthen our position
within the region and increase our competitiveness in each individual
market."
