Citigroup and its employees have contributed $7.4 million to provide relief and reconstruction in the aftermath of the South Asia tsunami disaster.

Marge Magner, Chairman of the Citigroup Foundation, further announced that the Foundation will match employee donations to legitimate non-profit or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in support of the South Asia tsunami relief efforts with a corresponding contribution to the Red Cross.

In Hungary, we have opened a local Tsunami Relief Account at Citibank Zrt. to collect donations from our employees. The funds will be forward to the Hungarian Red Cross for distribution to meet the most critical needs throughout the South Asia region affected by the tsunami disaster.
