| Citibank Rt. Hungary, a member of Citigroup, today announced
the launch of the Equal Payment Plan, a service offered to its credit
card customers. This unique service in the Hungarian market will allow
customers to pay back domestic and international retail transaction
amounts bought on their Citibank credit card in equal instalments
during the tenor selected by them, at preferential interest rate.
The new service combines the benefits of the credit cards and durable
finance loans and can be used with any one-time purchase of minimum
HUF 50,000 all over the world, wherever credit cards are accepted.
Zdenek Turek, Citigroup Country Officer for Citibank Rt. said:
"By this service we would like to help our customers with planning
their monthly expenses and help them avoid wasting time with paperwork
and documentation for each purchase. We also offer our customers
use of our credit cards under more preferential interest rate for
larger purchases. We believe that this unique offer will enhance
the appeal of our already popular credit cards with consumers."
Primary cardholders of all types of Citibank credit cards can easily
and quickly request this service through the 24 hour CitiPhone Banking
telephone customer service. There is no need for any written application
or documentation. The Equal Payment Plan can be requested for any
type of retail purchase transactions initiated by the primary or
supplementary cardholders in Hungary or abroad wherever credit cards
are accepted: e.g. buying clothes, household goods and appliances,
airline tickets or other travels arrangements, etc. amount of which
is minimum HUF 50,000. Requests do not have to be made at the time
of the purchase; they can be reported 3-4 days following the transaction
up until the due date in the monthly statement. Customers may select
from 4 tenors: 9, 12, 18 or 24 months and can pay back their outstandings
at a preferential monthly interest rate of 2.15% (APR 25.80%). Upon
the application the bank immediately informs the cardholder on the
result of the credit assessment related to the Equal Payment Plan.
At the same time, customers can continue to use their credit card
up to the available credit limit and according to the relevant contractual
terms and conditions.
