Citibank Rt., part of Citigroup, today announced that it
had issued 100,000 credit cards into the Hungarian market since
1999. Citibank was the first bank to offer credit cards to the Hungarian
consumers.
Today the bank offers the widest range of credit cards including Silver and Gold VISA and Eurocard-Mastercard and the co-branded Westel credit cards, allowing customers to select the type of credit card best suited to their needs.
Citibank, the world's number one credit card issuer, - today it has more than 100 million credit card holders in the world - focuses on competitive advantages to ensure that customers understand the difference between the debit and the credit card:
- Customers can buy now a high value item without having to save up in advance and they can pay later at their convenience.
- As opposed to debit cards, our customers use their credit limit instead of their own money when purchasing with their credit cards.
- Our customers can get a credit limit that can be three times their net monthly income.
- Our customers can enjoy up to 42 days of free credit on their purchases in a month.
Mark Robinson, Country Corporate Officer for Citibank Rt., said, "The credit card market is set to grow in Hungary. Citibank will rely on our global and local experience to meet the increasing demand of customers."
