The Bank charges both Expenditures that are made in forint and those that are made in foreign currency in forint. The conversion between the currency of the Expenditure and the currency of the Card Account is performed by the Bank as follows: first it converts the amount expressed in the currency of the Transaction into the settlement currency, pertaining to the Transaction, of the Card Company at the cross rate determined by the Card Company, and then it converts the Transaction amount expressed in the settlement currency of the Card Company into the currency of the Card Account at the day's exchange rate determined for the given type of Card. Thus, the exchange rate of an Expenditure executed in a currency other than the currency of the Card Account may be determined as a quotient of the amount determined in the currency of the Expenditure indicated on the Account Statement and indicated in the settlement currency. The Customer may enquire about the day's exchange rates at any time via CitiPhone.
In the case of a credit card, the settlement currency is USD. The Bank applies the prevailing effective exchange rate when processing the transaction.
