Personal Data Protection when executing funds transfers via SWIFT

Citibank International plc notifies you that in the event that the execution of the transaction requires the use of the services of SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication), based in Belgium (, the data related to your transaction will be transmitted to SWIFT, and the latter will transmit them to its back up file in its U.S.A. operating centre, for security reasons. Access to such file, which contains similar data originating from credit institutions of all the EU Member States, is granted to the US Authorities (e.g., the US Department of Treasury), for anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering purposes.
