“Symvallo (I contribute)”: New Diners Club program for children vaccination and education.

Athens, October 4, 2010.

Diners cardholders can now contribute every month to UNICEF’s medical and educational support to the children of Africa by participating in the new "Symvallo" program. By choosing between a monthly standing order of either 5 or 10 euros through the Diners Club card, the cardholders can easily direct their donation to either the therapeutic program for children or to the development of their educational opportunities.

Launching "Symvallo", Diners Club bought school equipment by UNICEF and donated it to 1.055 pupils from 23 childcare institutions. Thus, in the beginning of the new school year, the purchase of notebooks, pencils, rulers, erasers and children’s paints contributed to the implementation of UNICEF’s work for increasing the number of children who go to school, while they were offered to support the childcare institutions and give joy to the children of the below institutions:

"Symvallo-I contribute" program comes to widen the long term support relationship of Diners Club with UNICEF. From 2003 up to date, Diners Club Unicef has offered vaccines to 10.752.706 children in the emerging countries, by giving 0,5% of the value of each purchase with the card to UNICEF at no expense for the cardholder. Furthermore, Diners Club belongs to the usual supporters of UNICEF’s telethons against malnutrition, while it has also supported in the past UNICEF’s effort to decrease the number of children who don’t have access to school education by purchasing from its school equipment products.
