The programme “I care/(noiazomai)” widens. The benefit for children multiplies.
Athens, February 2, 2010.
With the opportunity of the successful completion of the first year of support to the work of Elpida and Elepap for the children, Citibank expands the program “I care/(noiazomai)” and gives its clients the chance to contribute personally. The Citibank Visa and/or Citibank MasterCard cardholders may from now on decide on an amount to be donated through their credit card on a monthly basis (standing order) to the above two philanthropic associations.
Citibank will continue to offer to Elpida and Elepap 0.05 Euros for every purchase with Citibank cards, at no cost for the cardholders. The first year of “I care” program was successfully completed with the donation of 260,000Euros for the children in need.
The program will be supported and promoted by Citibank’s valuable partners to this effort, Teleperformance Hellas, Publicis, Publicom/Hill&Knowlton and Media Edge, who have offered their services pro bono.
The public awareness for the importance of Elpida’s and Elepap’s work as well as Citibank’s devotion to the cause of “I care” will ensure the further success of the program.
The philanthropic associations Elpida and Elepap have been active supporters to children with cancer and physical disabilities respectively, and their work is well known and admired. Elpida will complete the construction of the first Paediatric Oncology Hospital in Greece, following a 20 years work, while Elepap through its 73 years of operation has supported more than 100.000 children with physical disabilities.
