Online Banking is a powerful innovative way to bank which

web-based system is the cornerstone of Citibank's vision of
the future of banking. It has allowed us to retire outdated
and less powerful systems and to move training and client care
online. CitiDirect lets you access your accounts real-time together
with an ever-expanding portfolio of industry-leading products
and services through the Web, to allow you to be more efficient,
more flexible and more in control of your banking and operational
needs.
What
can you do with CitiDirect?
Using the
Paylink module in Citidirect, customers can access information on
bank balances, initiate both local and foreign currency payments,
process Payrolls, and initiate mass payments. Payments include,
but are not limited to, supplier payments, customs & duties,
tax, pensions, dividends, salaries and so on. Payments are
processed in the form of Manager's Cheques or Electronic Funds
Transfers. Customers will shortly be able to initiate trade
transactions and customer service requests electronically.

Security
- Encryption
Data encryption protects data against interlopers by ensuring
that only authorized users can view the content of encrypted
files. CitiDirect® Online Banking uses Secure Sockets Layer
(with 128-bit encryption) a protocol designed to provide
privacy between a web client and server, and to ensure the
security of your account information.

Entitlement and Authorisation
With CitiDirect® Online Banking, authorisation for customer
activity is controlled or limited through user identity access
rules. Each user is assigned a user profile, which specifies
the level of access they can gain to accounts and what
functions they can carry out. Each time a user logs into
CitiDirect® Online Banking, the system uses this profile to
monitor and control authorised level of access and functions.
- Audits
and Alarms
A critical component of CitiDirect's security infrastructure
are the audits and alarms. Citibank proactively monitors the
usage of CitiDirect® Online Banking and all unauthorised
access attempts are alerted to a central around-the-clock
monitoring unit within Citibank to allow for immediate
investigation and resolution.

Wage
Packeting
This service
allows companies to outsource the entire cash payroll processing
to Citibank. With Wage Packeting, the customer forwards payroll
details to the bank. Upon receipt of this information, Citibank
debits the customer's account and arranges the cash into pay
packets using specially designed envelopes. The envelopes allow
for verification of actual cash content in the envelope without
breaking the seal and are delivered as per the customer's
instructions. Major benefits include:
- Reduction
in costs - The customer is relieved from the costs associated
with in-house processing.
- Efficiency
- The product is an all-in solution for the customer's Payroll
needs which is outsourced to Citibank. The bank handles the
process in its entirety.
- Reduced
risk - As cash is delivered directly to the customer's
offices, the customer does not bear the risks associated with
Cash-in-Transit.
