Travel Accident Insurance
Every time you charge your airline ticket, train or other common carrier fare to Diners Club, you'll receive automatic Travel Accident Insurance at no extra cost. Diners Club provides $350,000* in travel accident insurance — even when you're traveling on free or frequent flyer tickets. That's more coverage than you'll currently receive from any other corporate charge card provider and one more reason to feel confident in using the Diners Club Card for business travel expenses.

For your added protection, coverage includes direct travel to and from the airport, station or terminal, on any public conveyance, including buses, trains, taxis and hotels/car rental agency courtesy vans if your ticket was charged to your Diners Club Card prior to departure.

All Cardmembers, their legal spouses and dependent children** are covered. Persons traveling at the Cardmember's request whose common carrier tickets are charged to the Cardmember's Diners Club Account are also covered by this insurance.

You have the option of designating a beneficiary of your Travel Accident Insurance. To do so, complete and mail the Travel Accident Beneficiary Form.

**Unmarried, dependent children under the age of 19 (or age 25 if a full-time student at any accredited institution of higher learning) and primarily dependent on the Cardmember for support and maintenance.

Supplemental Air Travel Accident Insurance
Rest easy when you travel with one of the best Air Travel Accident Insurance values! As a Diners Club Corporate Cardmember in good standing, your acceptance is guaranteed for enrollment in Diners Club Flight Coverage Plus, underwritten and provided by National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa.*

Enrollment in Flight Coverage Plus is free. Once you enroll, you will be billed automatically whenever you travel and charge scheduled airline tickets to your Diners Club Corporate Card. Your coverage starts from the moment you step out your door to go to the airport (provided your scheduled airline ticket is charged in advance) and continues until you return, up to 30 days later.

The cost is surprisingly affordable compared to the protection you receive:

Up to $1,000,000 of Supplemental Air Travel Accident Protection every time you fly.
  • You can choose the level of Flight Coverage Plus that you want to receive: $500,000 or $1,000,000.
  • The cost per covered person per trip is $7.50 for $500,000 (principal sum) and $14.00 for $1,000,000 (principal sum).
  • You are covered while riding as a passenger in any scheduled aircraft as well as when you travel to the airport in a hotel/rental company courtesy van or public conveyance such as a bus, taxi or train (private/rental cars excluded - see 24-Hour Door-to-Door Travel Accident Insurance) or when you're actually on airport premises. This coverage includes loss of life, limb, sight, speech and hearing.
Up to $150,000 of 24-Hour Door-to-Door Travel Accident Insurance that covers you where Air Travel Accident Insurance does not.
  • You'll automatically receive 24-Hour Door-to-Door Travel Accident Insurance, if you are on the ground and not enroute to or from the airport in a public conveyance or on airport premises, for up to 30 days from departure for any trip.
Up to $500 per ticket in Trip Cancellation, Interruption and Airline Bankruptcy Insurance.
  • Your organization will automatically receive Trip Cancellation, Interruption and Airline Bankruptcy Insurance. So, if you must cancel or interrupt your trip because of personal or family illness or death or if the airline cancels your flight due to bankruptcy, your organization is covered up to $500 per ticket. (For SC residents: Trip Cancellation, Interruption and Airline Bankruptcy Insurance does not apply. For AZ and MD residents: Airline Bankruptcy Insurance does not apply.)

That is in addition to the Automatic Travel Accident Insurance you already receive as a Cardmember! Remember to consult your Travel Manager to determine if your organization authorizes participation. Excess Baggage Insurance
Up to $1,250 Excess Baggage Insurance*

Just charge the entire cost of your ticket to your Diners Club Card Account and you're automatically covered for up to $1,250 to replace your baggage and its contents should it be lost, damaged or stolen. This valuable protection is provided to you at no cost, and the same generous coverage applies to both checked and carry-on luggage. Diners Club Cardmembers are covered for the replacement cost of items if they are replaced. Otherwise, coverage is for the actual cash value of the item at the time of loss. This benefit pays in excess of any coverage provided by the common carrier.

Primary Rental Car Collision Insurance*
Whenever you charge the entire cost of the rental car to your Diners Club Account, you automatically receive worldwide** rental car collision damage insurance at no extra charge. The Diners Club program provides payment for covered damages to your rental car including loss due to collision, theft, fire and vandalism. To qualify you must decline the collision damage waiver (CDW) offered by the rental agency and charge the entire rental to your Diners Club Card. You can save your company as much as $16 per day by doing so.

Unlike the rental car insurance programs offered by other credit and charge cards, Diners Club coverage is primary. This policy pays for covered damages up to the full-value of the car before any other insurance you or your organization may have.*** There's usually no need to file a claim with your own insurance company, so your personal premium won't be affected.

This policy offers you convenience in filing claims: simplified documentation requirements up to 90 days (from the date of loss) to file.

Diners Club rental car insurance also covers free rentals earned through frequent traveler and bonus programs, and continuous rentals of up to 45 days (a longer duration than any other business charge card offers).

On those rare occasions outside the U.S. when you are compelled to accept a rental agency's CDW insurance (due to local laws or agency practice), Diners Club will cover any deductible amount for which you are responsible.
