Exporting a Global Vision Report

The information you gain through Global Vision may be used by many different parts of your organization for strategic planning, vendor negotiation, meetings and events planning, and budget review.

To ensure maximum flexibility, we've designed Global Vision so that its reports can be used in most Windows applications. Global Vision Reports can be saved or copied into a number of different formats, for use in presentations, reports, documents, newsletters, or for further analysis in spreadsheets or other software.

Exporting a Global Vision Report to Spreadsheet Format
Once you have produced a Global Vision report, you may wish to export the data into a spreadsheet format. To do so, you simply use the "Export" function and select from a number of spreadsheet compatible formats, including excel (xls), tab delimited (txt) or comma delimited file format (csv).

Saving a Global Vision Report to RTF Format
By default, Global Vision displays all the reports you generate in a report viewer, and automatically saves the last file created as " GVREPORT.RTF " (Rich Text File). To retain a permanent copy of any report you have produced, you must use the "Save As" command to assign the report a new name, and save it in a desired location. If you use the Report Viewer, it will automatically be saved as a Rich Text File, with an "rtf" extension.

Once the report has been saved you may use Microsoft Word, or many other word processing programs to open the "rich text file", modify it as you wish, and save it in another format.

Copying and Pasting Global Vision Graphs
Graphs present complex and highly detailed information in an easy to understand format. While never as detailed or as accurate for the reader as printed text and numbers, they are particularly useful for presenting a summary that a busy reader can grasp quickly.

You can use Global Vision's Clipboard feature to paste a graph directly into a printed report, or into another Windows application. Depending upon the report, you may generate, copy and paste:
  • Vertical bar graphs
  • Horizontal bar graphs
  • Pie graphs
  • Trend graphs
  • Air Travel Maps
To copy a graph to another application, use Global Vision's onscreen "Clipboard" option to copy your selection to the Windows Clipboard. You then can paste it into another Global Vision report, or into a Windows Application by using the "paste" button, or using the keyboard "paste command" (Ctrl+V).
