| To log into Citibank Online, you need a username, password (both set when you register for Citibank Online), and a one-time security code generated by your Security Key. |
| The Security Key is currently one of the most reliable methods of securing access to internet banking. The Security Key is available in the form of an SMS message or a Personal Key, also known as an authentication calculator. Both keys are based on encryption technologies and are reliable methods of protecting your information and finances. |
| The one-time Security Keys are different for each user and each login. Nobody can access your account if they do not know the security code generated by your Personal Key or the SMS key sent to your mobile phone |
| What is an SMS Key? |
| An SMS key is a one-time numeric code sent as a text message to a customer's mobile phone. These messages are free of charge. |
| Citibank Online SMS keys are available for the telephone number stated in the checking account contract or a credit card application. If you use the eStatement or CitiAlert service, the SMS key will be sent to the number you have provided when registering for these services. |
| You can verify or update the mobile phone number at any time with the help of a phone banker at 233 062 222 or by changing the eStatement and CitiAlert service settings in Citibank Online. |
| What is a Personal Key? |
| A Personal Key is a small portable device generating a one-time numeric code. It is completely standalone and does not communicate with the bank in any way. It can therefore be used at any time and anywhere you need. And in addition to that, it is protected by a five-digit numeric code that you choose when you first use the key. |
| You can order Personal Key anytime:
| |
- with the help of a phone banker at 233 062 222,
- with the help of the customer line 233 061 567 for CitiBusiness clients,
- personally at all Citibank branches.
| Please not, that you have to activate your Personal Key at 233 062 222 (or 233 061 567 for CitiBusiness clients) |
| Choosing your Security Key:
| |
A SMS key is better for you if you require easy use and have provided your current mobile phone number.
A Personal Key is a better choice if you prefer a more conservative approach, with an additional layer of protection in the form of an authentication calculator.
Choosing which key you wish to use is entirely up to you. The keys may also be combined in any way you like.

The client's identity is verified using a "Challenge - Response" mechanism. After initiating the connection to Citibank Online, the server sends a random number to the client. On the client side, this random number is encrypted using a "Triple DES" algorithm and the username and password for Citibank Online. |
| Whether you sign on through the Citibank homepage at www.citibank.cz, www.citibankonline.cz, or www.citibusiness.cz, you should always verify the correctness of the certificate by clicking on the lock symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of the login window before you enter your login data. Continue signing on only if the website shows the correct Citibank certificate, i.e., issued to production.citibank.cz. In any other case, please contact the CitiPhone customer line immediately at 233 062 222. |

| Automatic access blocking |
| Citibank Online permits only three unsuccessful attempts at entering your password. After another failed attempt, your access to Citibank Online will be blocked. In such cases, choose "Forgot your Password?", and you will be able to reset your account. To do so, you must know your card number and A-PIN, and answer the two security questions chosen when you activated your account. You will be then authorized to make three attempts to reset the account. If the required information is not entered correctly, access will be blocked completely and can only be restored with the help of the CitiPhone line. |

If the transaction is made after the "close of business", it is sent for processing with the next batch, i.e., on the next business day. |
