| Are you looking for the best way to use your funds? Would you like to protect your money against inflation and earn a return on it? Citibank is your ideal partner. We can design an appropriate investment strategy for every investor based on a detailed analysis of their needs, current financial situation, and their knowledge of retail investment products offered by Citibank. |
| We get to know the needs and goals of the investor |
| Before we start helping people invest, we need to fully understand their investment goals, financial resources, and risk attitude, as well as their knowledge of and experience with the various investment tools. |
| To do so, we use the Profiling Form. By filling it in, investors take their first steps in the world of investing with Citibank. |
| In the questionnaire, investors answer questions relating to: |
- their risk attitude (or risk tolerance)
- their ability to take risks (or risk capacity)
- their expertise and experience in the investment field
- and, not least, their financial background
| We provide investors with information on suitable investment instruments |
| Based on the information provided and as part of its investment advisory service, Citibank evaluates which investment instruments are suitable for that investor from a risk tolerance and capacity perspective or reasonable with relation to their expertise and experience in the field of investment. |
| Citibank offers two kinds of investment accounts: |
- An account with investment advisory service (Advisory Account Relationship), offered to the investor if, during the profiling stage, he or she shares with Citibank all necessary information concerning his or her financial situation, investment goals, risk tolerance, and knowledge of and experience in the investment field.
- An account without investment advisory service (Non-Advisory Account Relationship), offered to the investor if he or she rejects the profile created or does not provide Citibank with all the relevant information, or refuses the profiling process as such and answers only those questions concerning his or her knowledge and experience.
- Citibank will not open an investment account for clients who do not share information required in the profiling stage - at least information about their knowledge of and experience with investment instruments.
| Investment advisory services are provided by Citibank as one-off recommendations, which always refer exclusively to a single instruction and an investment service. |
| Investor classification |
| In the customer classification based on legislative requirements (MiFID), Citibank considers all of its investment clients as non-professional investors and provides them with the widest possible range of investor protection. Beyond this protection, Citibank has adopted very strict internal rules for investment services. Based on these rules, Citibank can offer the investor only an investment product that is suitable for him or her and for which the investor has sufficient knowledge and experience. At the same time, Citibank will not allow the investor to buy an investment instrument for which he or she has insufficient knowledge and/or experience as revealed in the profiling. |
