New York - Citigroup today announced that the company and its employees will donate up to US$3 million to assist the humanitarian aid effort following the earthquake disaster affecting South Asia. Clients who take out a Citibank Personal Loan before August 31, 2005, will not have to pay the credit account maintenance fee. In addition, the loan application process has been simplified. From now on, each application will only have to be supported by two documents: a statement of income and personal ID card.

Prague, In the pre-Christmas period, Citibank a.s. offered its customers to apply for credit cards and Citibank personal loans over the Internet. Following the launch of the new Internet banking program - Citibank Online, this is another innovation connected with use of the Internet. The new service enables to apply for these products directly, using one's PC. After the applicant fills in the basic data, his or her application will be pre-approved. A personal banker contacts the applicant within a short time then to complete the approving process together with him or her. The applicant for the card or the loan need not visit the bank branch at all, nor does he or she have to open an account with Citibank. As far as the loan is concerned, most customers receive the money within five days of delivering the required documentation, while the waiting period for the credit card is approximately one week. Furthermore, customer may newly manage his or her credit card also through the Internet. Citibank is the only bank to offer the possibility of changing one's credit card PIN over the Internet.

The results were achieved because of the highly efficient performance in the corporate and consumer banking divisions. The financial results were also influenced by conversion of share capital from USD to CZK currency.
New York, NY, January 17, 2002 - Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) today reported core income for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2001, of $3.86 billion, increasing 16% over the fourth quarter of 2000. Core income per share, diluted, increased 14%, to $0.74. Results include $228 million pre-tax impact relating to Enron, and $470 million pre-tax impact due to the turmoil in Argentina. For the full year, Citigroup's core income increased 3% over the prior year, while core income per share, diluted, was $2.81. Net income for the fourth quarter was $3.88 billion, and for the full year, was $14.13 billion.
