Death
In the event of death due to injury, the insurance company will pay the remaining part of your credit card debt (up to CZK 2,000,000).

Temporary disability
If you are temporarily disabled for more than 30 calendar days, the insurance company will provide a monthly benefit of 5% of the current balance* (of your total credit card debt) as of the day on which your first credit card statement after the insurance claim is due.
The insurance benefits are paid out throughout the temporary disability but for no longer than 12 consecutive months.
The amount of the monthly insurance benefits is unchanged.
* The current balance is defined in Business Terms and Conditions for Citi Credit Card Holders

Permanent disability
If you obtain the status of a permanently disabled person, the insurance company will pay the remaining part of your credit card debt (up to CZK 2,000,000).

Credit card fraudulent misuse (in the event of card loss or theft)
The insurance covers unauthorized transactions up to CZK 10,000 per 1 fraudulently misused credit card as long as the fraud happened no more than 48 hours before card blocking was requested. You must call us to report credit card theft or loss.
The insurance benefits can be paid out at most three times in a calendar year for each fraudulently misused credit card.
Who is insured?
- CreditShield insurance can be taken out by a natural person older than 18 and younger than 60 years of age who holds the main Citi credit card and does not receive a retirement pension or a partial or full disability pension.
- If the holder of the main Citi credit card is insured, the holder of the supplementary credit card is only insured against credit card fraudulent misuse as a consequence of its loss or theft.
- The insurance expires at the latest on the day on which the insured person reaches 65 years of age.
When does the insurance become valid?
- The insurance is effective as of the day after the day on which the credit card is approved so long as the insurance was requested along with the credit card, or else from
- the first business day after the day on which the insurance has been additionally arranged over the phone.
Monthly premium
The monthly cost of the insurance is a mere 0.69% of the total credit card debt as of the date of the monthly credit card statement including the remaining principal of installment plans.
It is paid through your Citi credit card.

STANDARD insurance
STANDARD insurance offers coverage of the following risks:
- Death
If the insured person dies for whatever reason during the period of insurance, the insurance company will pay out a one-off sum of CZK 100,000.
- Permanent disability
If you obtain the status of a permanently disabled person due to injury or illness, the insurance company will pay out a one-off sum of CZK 100,000. This insurance benefit will help you meet your obligations in part or in full.
- Temporary disability
In the event of temporary disability due to injury or illness, which takes at least 30 calendar days without interruptions, the insurance company will pay CZK 2,500 per calendar month of temporary disability (no more than 12 consecutive months). You can use the insurance benefits for your regular monthly payments.
PLUS insurance
PLUS insurance offers coverage of the following risks:
- Death If the insured person dies for whatever reason during the period of insurance, the insurance company will pay out a one-off sum of CZK 100,000.
- Permanent disability If you obtain the status of a permanently disabled person due to injury or illness, the insurance company will pay out a one-off sum of CZK 100,000. This insurance benefit will help you meet your obligations in part or in full.
- Temporary disability In the event of temporary disability due to injury or illness, which takes at least 30 calendar days without interruptions, the insurance company will pay CZK 5,000 per calendar month of temporary disability (no more than 12 consecutive months). You can use the insurance benefits for your regular monthly payments.
- Loss of employment In the event of unemployment that lasts at least 60 calendar days without interruptions, the insurance company will pay out CZK 5,000 for each calendar month the insured person is unemployed (no more than 6 consecutive months). You can use the insurance benefits for your regular monthly payments.
Who is insured?
- The STANDARD and PLUS Bill Protection products can be arranged by a natural person older than 18 and younger than 60 years of age who holds the main Citi credit card, is not temporarily disabled, does not receive retirement pension, partial or full disability pension and fulfils other conditions that can be found here.
- For PLUS insurance, the natural person must have an employment contract for an indefinite period of time and fulfill other conditions that can be found here.
- The holder of the main Citi credit card who applied for Bill Protection is insured. The holder of a supplementary credit card is not insured.
- The insurance ceases to exist at the latest on the day on which the insured person reaches 65 years of age.
When does the insurance become valid?
- On the first business day after the day on which the insurance has been additionally arranged upon issuing and activating the Citi credit card.

- In the event of credit card fraudulent misuse due to its loss or theft, or in the event of credit card fraudulent misuse in an Internet transaction including PIN transactions, the insurance benefits will be provided as long as the insurance claim occurred no more than 72 hours before the client called the bank to report the credit card loss/theft and to request the blocking of the card. The insurance benefits can be paid out at most three times in a calendar year.
- Insurance benefits in the event of theft or loss of keys, identity documents and wallet will be provided if those items were stolen or lost along with the credit card. The insurance benefits can be paid out at most three times in a calendar year.
- Insurance benefits in the event of theft of withdrawn cash during an assault or after a forced cash withdrawal from an ATM under threat of physical violence that occurred in direct relation with the cash withdrawal from the ATM using the credit card of the insured person or that was performed under threat of physical violence, or in the event of theft of withdrawn cash during an assault or under threat of physical violence within 2 hours after cash withdrawal from the ATM. The insurance benefits can be paid out at most three times in a calendar year.
- If the mobile phone of the insured person is stolen along with their credit card, the insurance benefits will be paid out as long as the mobile phone was not older than 3 years at the moment of the insurance claim and as long as the insured person has blocked the mobile phone. The insurance benefits will be paid out as follows:
- If the same type of mobile phone is sold by a selected vendor, the insured person will be given a new mobile phone identical to the stolen one as long as the current sales price of the new mobile phone does not exceed the limit of insurance benefits, i.e. at most CZK 10,000. If the sales price of the new mobile phone exceeds the limit of insurance benefits, the insured person will be given a voucher to the value of CZK 10,000 redeemable for the purchase of a new mobile phone from a selected vendor.
- If the type of stolen mobile phone is no longer available from the selected vendor, the insured person will be offered 3 types of comparable mobile phones (as to functionality and quality; the appearance of the phone is irrelevant) whose sales price will be lower than the limit of insurance benefits, i.e. at most CZK 10,000. The insured person will choose one of these mobile phones at their own discretion. If the sales price of the new mobile phone exceeds the limit of insurance benefits, the insured person will be given a voucher to the value of CZK 10,000 redeemable for the purchase of a new mobile phone from a selected vendor.
The insurance does not extend to the accessories of the mobile phone.
If the SIM card in the stolen mobile phone is fraudulently misused, the insured person is entitled to insurance benefits as long as the mobile phone was stolen along with the credit card and as long as the SIM card was inside the phone. In such a case, the insurance benefits are equal to the sum of the costs of calls that took place no more than 24 hours before the theft of the mobile phone was reported and before the request to block the SIM card or the mobile phone. The insurance benefits, including fees associated with blocking the mobile phone and SIM card, can be provided at most once in each calendar year per each insured person.

- The insurance can be taken out by any credit card holder younger than 75 years of age.
- The insurance extends to supplementary Citi credit cards as long as the main Citi credit card is insured.
- The insurance ceases to exist at the latest on the day on which the insured person reaches 80 years of age.
When does the insurance become valid?
- From the first business day after the day on which Secured Insurance with Your Card has been additionally arranged over the phone.
Monthly premium

- Mobileo insurance applies to a mobile phone (not its accessories) that is the exclusive property of the insured person (not a business phone) and to the SIM card inserted in the mobile phone at the moment of the theft.
- If the mobile phone of the insured person is stolen, the insurance benefit will be paid out as long as the stolen mobile phone was not older than 3 years at the moment of the insurance claim and as long as the insured person has blocked the mobile phone. The insurance benefit will be paid out as follows.
- If the same type of mobile phone is sold by a selected vendor, the insured person will be given a new mobile phone identical to the stolen one as long as the current sale price of the new mobile phone does not exceed the limit of the insurance benefit, i.e. a maximum of CZK 3,000. If the sale price of the new mobile phone exceeds the limit of the insurance benefit, the insured person will be given a voucher to the value of CZK 3,000 redeemable for the purchase of a new mobile phone from a selected vendor.
- If the type of mobile phone that was stolen is no longer available from the selected vendor, the insured person will be offered 3 types of comparable mobile phones (in terms of functionality and quality; the appearance of the phone is irrelevant). The insured person will choose one of these mobile phones at their own discretion. If the sale price of the new mobile phone exceeds the limit of the insurance benefit, the insured person will be given a voucher to the value of CZK 3,000 redeemable for the purchase of a new mobile phone from a selected vendor.
- If the mobile phone is fraudulently misused by the unauthorized handling of the mobile phone and the SIM card inserted in it, the insured person is entitled to the insurance benefit as long as the SIM card was inside the stolen phone. In such a case, the insurance benefit is equal to the sum of the costs of the calls that took place during a period extending no longer than 24 hours before the theft of the mobile phone was reported and before the request to block the SIM card and the mobile phone. The limit of the insurance benefit is the maximum possible amount, regardless of how many SIM cards were inserted in the mobile phone.
The insurance benefits can be paid out at most three times in a calendar year for one insured person.
Who is insured?
- The insurance is included by default in the O2 Citi credit card Gold for holder younger than 75 years of age.
- The insurance extends to the main O2 Citi credit card Gold holders, not to the to supplementary O2 Citi credit cards Gold holders

Who is insured?
- Family Insurance for Your Travel covers any holder of a Citi credit card who is not older than 70 years of age when they apply for it, and their family members on the same trip. Family members on the same trip are the spouse, registered partner or companion sharing the same household and any number of children under 18 who are all permanent residents of the same country as the holder of the Citi credit card and take part in the same trip abroad. The insurance only covers persons younger than 75 years of age. The insurance only applies to the main Citi credit card, not supplementary ones.
- If you are a holder of more than one Citi credit card and if you took out the insurance more than once, you are entitled to receive insurance benefits for just one of the cards if the insurance claim occurs, namely that with the highest limit of insurance benefits. The limit of insurance benefits is constant regardless of the actual number of fellow-travelers, i.e. the limit does not increase with the number of fellow-travelers.
- The insurance ceases to exist at the latest on the day on which the insured person reaches 75 years of age.
When does the insurance become valid?
- The insurance starts on the day after the day on which the insurance has been additionally arranged over the phone after credit card approval.
- The insurance coverage is effective from the moment of crossing the frontier of the Czech Republic. It need not be activated before the trip.
- The insurance coverage ends when the insured person enters the Czech Republic on their return but no later than 45 days after the start of the trip.

Family Travel Insurance for Citi ČSA Credit Cards
- With your Family Travel Insurance, you are ready for unexpected situations all over the world. The insurance covers the usual recreational sports (including winter sports) not involving major risks, insurance of medical expenses, accident insurance, liability insurance and other insurance risks.
- You do not have to waste your time arranging insurance before your trip. Instead, you can fully concentrate on your travel plans.
Family Travel Insurance is offered by Citibank Europe plc, organizační složka in alliance with POJIŠŤOVNA CARDIF PRO VITA, a. s., the provider of the insurance.
Overview of insurance coverage
Who is insured?
- Family Travel Insurance covers any holder of a Citi credit card who is not older than 70 years of age when the credit card application is approved, and their family members on the same trip. Family members on the same trip are the spouse or partner in a civil union or shared household and any number of children under 18 who are all permanent residents of the same country as the holder of the Citi ČSA credit card and take part in the same trip abroad. The insurance only covers persons younger than 75 years of age.
When does the insurance become valid?
- The insurance starts on the day after the day on which the credit card has been approved.
- The insurance coverage is effective from the moment of crossing the frontier of the Czech Republic.
- The insurance coverage ends when the insured person enters the Czech Republic on their return but no later than 45 days after the start of the trip.
Insurance termination and expiry
The insurance expires:
- on the day on which the credit card holder reaches 75 years of age
- on the day on which the credit card holder passes away
- the insurance against permanent disability from injury expires on the day on which the insured person obtains the status of a permanently disabled person
- at the moment when fraudulent behavior on the part of the insured person has been detected in relation to credit card use
- at midnight of the day on which the credit card holder reported to the policy holder the credit card loss or theft, within the meaning of policy holder’s commercial terms and conditions, unless a new card was issued
- on the last day of validity of the credit card for which the insurance was arranged unless a new credit card was emitted subsequently
Monthly premium
- This insurance is provided automatically for Citi ČSA Credit Card holders and is included in the price of the card.
