Security recommendations for payment cardholdersActivation of a new cardWhen we send you a new card, it is blocked in order to protect against its misuse as a result of theft of the letter. Once you receive the new card, please activate it by calling the CitiPhone activation line Sign your card on the back in the signature box. Do not tell anyone your PIN, which you will set when you call CitiPhone; do not write your PIN on the card or in a note on your mobile phone. If you write the PIN down somewhere, do not carry it in the same bag as your credit card. Photograph on the credit cardYour photograph on the front of the card is a security feature of this banking product that is provided free of charge against its misuse due to loss or theft. Loss or theft of the cardIf your card is lost or stolen, immediately notify the CitiPhone help desk at 233 062 222. Because the thief will try to use the card as soon as possible, notifying us as soon as possible will limit the damage that can be done. On the basis of your call, we will immediately block your card free of charge, and then we will reissue another card. There is no charge for this service, which is provided by the CitiPhone help line 24-hours a day. Whenever you call the CitiPhone help line, you may be asked for information in order to confirm that we are speaking with the actual cardholder. From the minute you notify CitiPhone of a loss of the card, the bank covers all possible losses resulting from the misuse of the card (in agreement with the Business Conditions for Citi Credit Cards).Fraudulent E-mailsPlease allow us to warn you about fraudulent unsolicited emails, which may try to prompt you to go to authorized web pages. Authors of these emails and web pages will, through various pretenses, try to get you to provide information about your card, your PIN codes, or other information related to the bank. Please never answer these emails or provide information about your card based on such messages. Unauthorized Transactions on Your Credit Card StatementPlease check your credit card account statement, which will be sent to you every month free of charge, to make sure that all the transactions listed are in accordance with the actual transactions you made with the card. We recommend saving your receipts for this purpose. If you find transactions on your account statement that you did not make, please contact CitiPhone at 233 062 222 within 20 days of the date of the account statement, where we will provide you with additional information regarding processing a complaint. Fraud Early Warning BlockThe security of our customers and their financial assets is very important to us. For this reason, Citibank developed a banking system for identifying suspicious transactions. If the system identifies an unusual transaction on your card, the system can temporarily block your card or cancel the authorization of a transaction. Payments with CardsWhen making payments with your card, always pay attention to how the cashier handles the card. When the card is returned, request a receipt from the transaction. On the receipt and on other similar documents, nothing can be crossed out; if there is a mistake, destroy the receipt and request a new one. If you use the card as a guarantee, request the sales person for a receipt after making the payment, as well as for the receipt for the guarantee with the imprint of your card, which should be destroyed. If you use your card in a restaurant, for example, always check that the wait staff returned your card.
