Ulan Bator is one of the coldest capital cities in the world. And, as in some other countries with emerging economies, many Mongolians use inefficient, unhealthy cookstoves for heating and cooking, the offshoot of which is air pollution. MicroEnergy Credits had an idea: partner with a microfinance institution to distribute clean-burning, fuel-efficient cookstoves. Because of our global reach, they were able to turn to Citi for help. Nine out of ten U.S. households owns at least one car or truck, and affordable financing helps make this possible. They've raised over $1 billion dollars, enabling thousands of middle-class Americans to drive a Toyota car or truck, and indirectly supporting tens of thousands of jobs, including in manufacturing facilities across America.
